Performance of motets by Ludwig Senfl to mark the presentation of the first three volumes of the New Senfl Edition, containing Senfl’s motets for four and five voices.
We look forward to commemorating the 501st anniversary of the Liber selectarum cantionum in Salzburg, Austria, home to the dedicatee of the print—Cardinal and Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg Matthäus Lang. Motets by Josquin des Prez, Jacob Obrecht, Henricus Isaac, and Ludwig Senfl.
Free and open to the public; donations will be accepted.
After one year of delays, Sourcework is excited to present a concert of motets from the Liber selectarum cantionum (1520) in Regensburg, Germany, close to the 501st anniversary of the book’s printing in nearby Augsburg! Our concert has been prepared and will be performed from a facsimile of the original print. Regensburg’s Staatliche Bibliothek also holds its own original copy of the Liber selectarum.
This concert is presented as a part of the conference Herrscher in der Metropole: Spannungsfelder zwischen politischer Zentralität und urbaner Diversität in der Vormoderne. The concert is free and open to the public.
